Mid City Zen will be closed for a holiday break. Regularly scheduled activities will not be held from Monday, December 23 through Wednesday, January 1. We will open for a special 108 bells ceremony on New Year's Eve. Join us!
8:30pm - temple cleaning (soji)
9pm - zazen, kinhin, zazen
10pm - 108 bells
A fire outside will follow. Feel free to attend all or part, and to come and go as you please.

Ceasefire Sits, Monday Mornings:
8am - 8:30 Zazen
8:30 - 8:35 Loving Kindness Chant
Support and join us in our commitment to non-violence in ourselves and the world. We will sit zazen (meditation) and practice loving kindness, dedicated to a lasting ceasefire in Palestine/Israel. All are welcome.

Tuesday Mornings:
6:30 - 7:15am Zazen
Please be in your seat before 6:28am. You can attend in person, or via Zoom. If joining online, click the link a few minutes early and sit together (the han wooden bell starts at 6:20am). The doan will ring 3 bells to begin and 1 to end. We will close with the refuge prayer (see the weekday chant card)

Queer Zen:
Second Monday of the Month 6:30 - 7:05pm
Queer Zen is a monthly gathering on the second Monday of the month to sit in community together. No meditation experience necessary. All LGBTQIA folks and allies welcome. The zendo will open at 6:15 and sitting meditation and a short ceremony will take place from 6:30-7:05pm.

Sober Zen:
First and Third Thursday of the Month 7:00 - 8:00pm
Sober Zen is a discussion group about sobriety, meditation, and mindfulness and how they can support each other. All are welcome. No meditation experience is necessary.
